Leading manufacturer of PVCU windows and doors, Profile 22 celebrated a huge success after supporting a sponsored ‘moustache growing challenge’ by a group of ten of its employees. The challenge was formed in a bid to raise awareness about prostate cancer, an illness which is infamously neglected by many men, and which often displays no signs or symptoms. One man dies every hour from this particular cancer and it is the most common cancer in men in the UK. A healthy lifestyle and regular check ups at the doctors can reduce the development of prostate cancer, early detection being a major factor in a positive outcome.
The challenge named ‘Movember’ involved the employees, calling themselves ‘Epwin Mo Bros’, each growing a moustache in the style of their choosing, beginning on November 1st 2012. The team have raised over £640, and in the UK as a whole over £9.8m was raised during November, with the global figure at £40.9m.
